Dr Stephen Bianchi formed White Lion Medical Ltd in March 2017 following 10 years of consultant clinical practice at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and BMI Thornbury Private Hospital.
He graduated from Manchester Victoria University (UK) in 1995 with the qualification of MBChB. Between 1991 & 1992 he undertook a research qualification in Experimental Immunology and Oncology, obtaining a First Class Honours degree. He published his first research papers at that time establishing clinical research and the thirst for new knowledge as a core principle for his medical practice. He pursued his early medical training in Manchester and Salford Teaching Hospitals followed by several years in Blackburn Royal Infirmary, a district general hospital in the North West of England, enhancing his clinical and practical knowledge in a busy clinical practice. Prior to attaining his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians he spent a further 18 months working at Manchester Royal Infirmary including a research post in Intensive Care Medicine.
During his specialist respiratory training in the North East of England he undertook a further 3 year period of research attaining PhD in the area of cellular immunity and the interaction between human immunity and bacteria. He was appointed to a substantive consultant NHS post in July 2007 at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 2001 and completed his MBA in Medical Leadership in 2014 at Sheffield Hallam University.
